Anti-Malaria tablets

Malaria is spread by mosquitoes that have been infected by a parasite, and is generally found in tropical or subtropical countries. The symptoms of malaria are unpleasant and can include headaches, sweating, chills, vomiting, and diarrhoea. If untreated, malaria can be deadly.
Malaria tablets are essential if you are visiting countries in which the disease is widespread. This applies to over 200 countries around the world.
Anyone visiting a country in which malaria is widespread should take malaria tablets even if you have lived there previously.
When used together with DEET, or other methods to prevent being bitten in the first place, malaria tablets are 90-100% effective at protecting against malaria. However they must be used correctly, in some cases before, during and after your holiday, if they are used incorrectly you may not be protected at all.
